It's a bird! It's a plane! No! It's a blog!

I just realized how long it's been since I've posted anything on my blog so I thought I'd give some updates. First off, as some of you may or may not have noticed, I have been promoted to an Admin. This is not a real promotion, it is a temporary fix due to Matt's recent absence. To be perfectly clear, I have no extra powers, and I do not have access to the games database or use editor. I can only delete users that I believe are bots. If/when Matt returns I will most likely return to Moderator status. Laser Tag Evolved is taking much longer than anticipated, and is at all but a standstill. This is mostly due to a lack of a helpful tester not behind a router/corperate firewall (if you aren't, or you know how to set up port forwards, PM me). I should probably just release it... the problem is latency at game start. You can play on LAN, just not over the internet. Studies are going well. Gotta love stacks, queues, (sorted, unsorted, linked, etc.) lists, and search algorithms. In closing... They're coming... are you ready?

Blaze of Glory on YouTube

For those who may think it's impossible to get the high score on my latest minigame Blaze of Glory, I have recorded a video of me getting over 4,000 points. You can watch it here . I know it's a sign of a lame game if you need a video to learn it, but hopefully it'll help you get an idea of how to play. That's why I left the mouse on in the video recording. Note that, despite the fact that nearly all of the related videos have to do with the Bon Jovi song, I really wasn't thinking of it when I named the game :P Watch my YouTube channel for future updates. I'm hoping to do a trailer for Laser Tag: Evolved soon.

RTS or scrolling shooter?
|
(Sunday, 08 March 2009) Written by Mynameisonic
I know it's sort of late to be changing projects, but I really can't decide between two ideas for the Time contest. One is an RTS, and the other is a scrolling shooter (like 1945, only actually cool). The contest rules say that the goal is to create a casual game, and the RTS genre has never lent its self to casual gaming very well, but I think it could still be good. Also, a lot of really lame scrolling shooters have been made with Game Maker, and I'm a little afraid those will reflect poorly even if my game is decent. So... thoughts/comments?
