GMArcade.com's Time Contest!

Deadline: April 30th 2009 11:59PM
The current server time is: February 8th 2010 8:57PM

What's that!? A twist in the contest? It's about time! (Get it? Okay I'll admit that was a bad attempt at a pun.) The Time contest has been extended by an entire month! So get your entries in!

Time to kick off GMArcade.com's second contest! The last contest was only three weeks long, and people were pressured to finish quickly and we didn't receive many entrants. This time around we are extending the length to a month and a half. The goal of every GMArcade contest is to create a casual, yet fun, game. Each contest will have a theme or genre associated with it, and the GMArcade Moderators will be the judges. GMArcade's contests are sponsored by Jonathan S. Harbour, renowned game development author and University of Advancing Technologies Game Development Professor.

Theme

This contest is based on the "Time" theme. We figured that since last contest was pressured on time, and for this contest we are giving you more time, that this would be fitting. Time travel, time limits, or any other concept that involves time should be integrated into your game.

Rules

With every contest comes a set of rules that must be followed. These rules will stay the same for every contest, unless the GMArcade moderators feel a need to change them.
  1. The game must be your own work, and you must have the right to use all resources in your game.
  2. The game must be uploaded to the GMArcade website, and work with our Play Game Online technology. If it doesn't work with Play Game Online, we will not judge your game. Please post a link to your game here.
  3. You are not allowed to submit a game that you have started before the beginning of the contest, you must create a game specifically for this contest.
  4. Games should be made on an individual basis, only one prize will be awarded per winning game.
  5. Each user is only allowed to submit one game to the contest, so make your game the best you can.
  6. Your game must be submitted to the site on or before the deadline for the contest.
  7. It is recommended that you post a topic about your game on the GMC (or respective forum) as well as the JHarbour.com Forums.

Prizes!

And of course everyone's favorite part of contests, the prizes! Jonathan S. Harbour has generously donated two of his Game Programming books to every contest and GMArcade is dishing out a good amount of Coins too.
